2024 Grammy® nominated cellist Hans Christian is offering a new series of Ambient Melodic Concerts on cello, live looping and ethnic instruments.
Nominated for his latest release Ocean Dreaming Ocean, Christian offers solo concerts where his unmistakable cello playing moves the listener with a haunting beauty. His use of live looping, various ethnic string instruments, and electronics explores a universal musical language that transcends boundaries, cultures, and generations.
Originally from Germany, Hans started his musical career in Los Angeles in the 1980s as a sought after cellist/bassist and developed his skills as musician, producer and recording engineer in some of the finest recording studios. A persistent exploration of his own music catapulted him into the echelon of eclectic artists that defy easy categorisation while his musicality as performer, producer, and engineer has been captured on an estimated 200 recording projects.
Hans has extensively toured North America as a soloist and with the GuruGanesha Band, Mirabai Ceiba, RASA, Krishna Das, Harry Manx and others. He performed as artist-in-residence at Chartres Cathedral, France for six years and appeared at the reknowned AmbiCon festival in San Rafael, CA. His music has been repeatedly featured on nationally syndicated radio shows, including Echoes and Hearts Of Space.
His 2024 Ambient Melodic Concerts are suitable for house concerts, churches, and small concert halls with a focus on attentive listening.
