There's a whole world of Paleo followers and people with autoimmune issues that are avoiding grains. So my gluten free oats do not fit that bill. I have heard from my customers, friends and retailers that a Paleo granola will be well received. So, here goes!
I have finalized our recipe and it contains all kinds of nutrient dense foods that you can feel good about throwing down the hatch. I had to check to see if maple syrup was paleo approved and I did find approval in online feeds of paleo guidelines. It is a naturally occuring product so in it went!
This bag will start our trend towards using a 12 oz. bag for all of our products. I have heard comments from retailers and customers that a smaller bag is desirable. Many of the products I searched online do sell in a 12 oz. bag. We are streamlining all of our bags to the 12 oz. by Summer 2018 to make the process easier for us as demands increase.
So what's in this beauty? Almonds, Pumpkin Seeds (Pepitas), Coconut Chips, Sesame Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Chia Seeds, Maple Syrup, Organic Coconut Oil, Cinnamon and Cardamom, Vanilla Extract and of course a little sea salt. It is SO good! I sent a sample home with a friend and she wasn't sure it would make it through the car ride home to share with her husband! This will definitely be one of those that people eat right out of the bag, more like a snack.
We've been having meetings, reworking some things and trying to expand our reach for this coming year. A shout out to Pat our loyal graphic designer that has been so diligent, so accessible and so very patient. She is a gem of a person! ( See the amazing shelf talker she designed for us below).
The new photos on our website are due to the phenomenal talent of my nephew Steven Brandt. We did a photo shoot (our first official one!) on a Saturday morning and his attention to detail was nothing short of perfect. Find out more about him at Creative Compassion Photography. Kick Ash Product's lead baker Britt was on hand to share her creative eye in the table settings you see and to lend a hand wherever it was needed. We learned a lot and can't wait to do another shoot!
I have gotten some wonderful emails from customers that are so encouraging. I am always so humbled that people spend time to send positive comments. We should all do that more!
I am enrolled in a one year health coaching program through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I will be using the things I learn to expand our product line and possibly do some health coaching on the side. We find plenty of things to fill up our life during the winter in Door County. Learning new things is one of my favorite ways to do that.
One of my goals with my business was to end up in Ellison Bay and I have never regretted it. I was born and raised here so my history is here. Raising my four children in Ellison Bay has been a truly wonderful experience. I wanted to be a part of this beautiful town at the end of the Door Peninsula and I love it more each day. I am looking forward to seeing many of you when we open in May. It's worth the drive.....I promise!
Be on the lookout for our Valentine's boxes online later today! Share the love!
Hoping that you are all staying healthy during this winter season,
Carol and family
